The Yamaha Aerox 155 ABS Scooter


Originally meant to be exclusively for the Japanese market, the Yamaha Aerox 155 has become a popular scooter in Thailand, prompting local scooteristas to fall in love with the Aerox 155.

The modern features of the Yamaha Aerox 155 have pushed the scooter to a higher level, going against previous impressions that it’s only good as a daily commuter. With the Yamaha Aerox 155’s improved styling and design, riding on the crowded city streets is now an enjoyable experience.

Even scooter fashionistas will love the the Yamaha scoot’s blend of smartly graphics and contemporary design. The twin-eye LED headlamps add to the sporty and aggressive stance. There’s performance to back up this image, too.

The 155cc liquid-cooled, four-stroke SOHC VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) with electronic fuel injection engine uses Blue Core Technology as its secret weapon to achieve powerful acceleration. It has a claimed maximum power of 14.8 horsepower at 8,000rpm, and peak torque of 14.4Nm at 6,000rpm.

The scooter floats on telescopic front suspension and a swing arm unit at the rear, so no worries when it comes to Bangkok back ally bad road conditions. It is also equipped with high-tech safety and security features such as Stop&Start system, ABS, and keyless start with immobilizer and answer-back. Finally, there’s a luggage compartment with a 25-liter capacity.

I just bought a basic (white or red colour) model for 65k baht. The r model - flashy graphics 3 colours cost 67k while the abs model is 74k. In Phuket prices.

Have they increased the fuel tank size yet? Some reports seem to indicate a 7 Litre capacity others say 4.6. What is it in Thailand for the newest versions.
