One year on, the Honda CRF250 Rally project is nearly ready for production. Officially, this is still a prototype, but the showroom version will look identical to the latest prototype.
The Honda CRF250 Rally is still very much based on the CRF250L, sharing its engine, frame and suspension. The changes all visual and focus on adding a Dakar-style look inspired by HRC's works CRF450 Rally machines. The Honda CRF250 Rally prototype has dropped the earlier concept's rally-style instruments in favor of the digital display we also find on the Honda MSX125, modified to reflect the CRF250 Rally's redline. There's still a question of engine capacity – the CRF250 Rally's engine is similar to the one used in the Honda CBR300R, meaning it'd be easy to bump power from 17kW to 22.7kW and torque from 22Nm to 27Nm.
