Shell renews its technical partnership with Ducati

Motorcycle NewsShell today extended its technical partnership with Ducati - both with Ducati Corse in MotoGP and WSBK, and Ducati's road bike division. The new agreement extends the present contract though to the end of 2011.

Additionally, the new contract is a corporate Shell technical partnership that will now include the Shell V-Power fuel brand as well as the traditional Shell Advance motorcycle oil products.

Speaking at the contract signing in Madonna di Campiglio, Italy, during Ducati's annual MotoGP PR and press event, Juan Carlos Perez, General Manager Global Sponsorships, Shell Brands International said: "We are delighted to be signing the contract here today with Ducati. This technical partnership is extremely important to us and the development programmes we run. We are very proud of the technical achievements of this partnership as well as the fantastic results on the race track, culminating in Ducati's first ever MotoGP World title in 2007.
We are looking forward to much more success in the future as well as more technical innovation from this fantastic collaboration."

Ducati was represented from both sides of the organisation in the Italian Dolomites. Gabriele Del Torchio, CEO Ducati Motor Holding and Claudio Domenicali, Ducati Corse CEO/Ducati Motor Holding product director, joined Perez to sign a commemorative print.

Claudio Domenicali, Ducati Corse CEO/Ducati Motor Holding product director: "We are in a position to sign a contract renewal with Shell, a partner which is fundamentally important for us, a technical partner. In a regulated series where fuel consumption is very important, we can count on partners like Shell who develop together Formula One and MotoGP fuel and oil. These products are also designed for the road, so the development work we do together is fundamentally important. It is incredibly important to our future that we can sign with Shell until 2011."
