Honda announced the New Standard Commuter (NSC110)

Motorcycle NewsHonda Motor Europe announced that its fast-growing scooter family receives a new member – a stylish 110cc commuter that combines ample performance with superb fuel economy. It also boasts plenty of storage space, Honda’s Combined Braking System and comfort for both rider and passenger.

By creating products and technologies aimed at making customers' lives more convenient and fun, and by continually providing environmentally friendly products at an affordable price, Honda hopes to share and expand its joy with its customers, and ensure joy for the next generation.

Honda has been pushing ahead with product development based on these fundamental concepts.

Honda offers more and more customers around the world products that bring the appeal sought by the user to a still higher level by evolving towards “more comfortable” and “more convenient”—the basic features demanded for commuters.

The hardware selected to make this happen was orthodox yet refined, aimed at achieving performance higher than ever.

A reliable air-cooled 110cc engine offering high durability and performance stands at the top of its class in both quietness and fuel efficiency. This is the true creation of a family commuter sprung from the concept of allowing more and more people to freely enjoy motorcycles in their daily lives.

This model will be sold as a global model in a wide range of countries.

The Honda engineering team was challenged to satisfy the following development requirements:
  • Lightweight, compact and simple structure
  • Top-of-class fuel efficiency
  • High-quality feel while achieving superb durability and output characteristics that stress practicality
To meet these requirements, the New Standard Commuter (NSC110) employs an air-cooled, 4-stroke, 110cc single-cylinder OHC engine with the programmed fuel injection (PGM-FI) system for Japan, China, Europe and the other countries.

For Indonesia, the New Standard Commuter (NSC110) employs a carburetor-type, air-cooled, 4-stroke, 110cc single-cylinder OHC engine.

New Standard ? More like a rebadged old product sold in Asia. This bike is make in Thailand like the PCX and the quality is very high. It has a top spped of about 100 kmh (63 mph) and does get 100+ mpg (47km/l) Here it is sold for about 1400 Euro or $1500 USD, it is small in size and good around town. Ample under seat storage no, not even close. This also will be sold in America as the Vision. However, The PCX is larger, quicker, more stable, and gets better fuel mileage at a slightly higher price
