Yamaha Motor Engineering is devoted to the development and manufacture of YEC Yamaha Racing Parts: high-performance engine and chassis racing parts for the Yamaha YZF-R1 and YZF-R6. Yamaha Motor Engineering, wholly-owned by Yamaha, is the only officially-approved supplier of racing parts for the R-series machines.

Yamaha YEC Racing Parts are used by Yamaha's winning superbike, supersport, superstock and endurance teams, and the very same parts that have helped these teams to numerous successes over the years are now available to the non-factory rider.

Because Yamaha YEC Racing Parts are developed in-house, we are able to finalize new racing parts before a new model is released for sale, and this allows us to thoroughly test and evaluate every component well in advance. This means that as soon as any new R-series model arrives in the showrooms, the very latest generation of fully-tested Yamaha YEC Racing Parts are soon to follow.

Testing and development of Yamaha YEC Racing Parts is carried out in association with MG Competition, the highly-respected team that runs the racing squad of Team YZF Yamaha. As well as using input from our World Superbike and World Supersport teams to evaluate new parts, we also use top development riders as Shinichi Nakatomi to carry out intensive track testing.

In addition to this demanding on-track development schedule, MG Competition also carry out thorough workshop evaluation of all Yamaha YEC racing parts jointly with engineers from Japan at their world-class testing facilities, and employ three dedicated development engineers who work exclusively on the Yamaha YEC program.
